Ellie's story

Poor Ellie started 2010 fighting for her life. After being found as a stray at only 8 weeks old and sitting in a rural Kentucky shelter where no one came to claim her, Ellie arrived at her foster home shortly after Christmas.  However, a case of the sniffles turned from bad to worse – likely due to Ellie’s weakened immune system from being on her own so young.  Shortly before New Year’s Eve, she was diagnosed with an acute case of pneumonia and admitted to an emergency care facility. The doctors said the next 24 hours would be critical.

Ellie spent several days in the emergency care facility fighting for her life and what a fight she gave! Her sad photo spurred many friends of Rogers’ Rescues to donate to help cover her care. With the medical expertise of the wonderful vet team at Animal Emergency and Referral Associates in Fairfield, NJ and all the positive thoughts from her extended Rogers’ Rescues family, Ellie made a complete recovery.

On January 23, 2010 a strong, healthy and happy 15-week old Ellie was adopted by the Haver family of Media, PA. Today, Ellie spends her days playing with her humans and amazing everyone she meets with her stunning beauty which includes eyes of ice blue. She was Rogers’ Rescues “New Year’s Miracle” and is now a cherished family member thanks to the Havers who simply adore her.
